On Friday, September 20, the National Police Accountability Project will be having a fundraiser in Humboldt Park at Nellie's Puerto Rican Restaurant at 2458 West Division.
Per their website, “The National Police Accountability (NPAP) is dedicated to ending police abuse of authority through coordinated legal action, public education, and support for grassroots and victims' organizations combating police misconduct. NPAP, a project of the National Lawyers Guild, is a non-profit organization of plaintiff's lawyers, law students and legal workers.”
The fundraiser is being hosted by Janine Hoft of the People’s Law Office, Michael Kanovitz of Loevy and Loevy and Melinda Power of the West Town Law Office.
The dinner costs $80 for lawyers and $35 for everyone else. The event is sure to feature good food, good company, good discussion and a worthy cause.
